Michael Johnston's 2005 full-length solo debut - Curious Heart - was produced with drummer Don Kerr (Ron Sexsmith).

Built around the piano, the album's 14 songs are a mix of exquisite melodies, rootsy ballads, and spirited vocal harmonies. Johnston's soulful, intricate and quintessentially Canadian songs create engaging moods and enduring images.

Curious Heart includes performances from Oh Susanna, Don Rooke (Mary Margaret O'Hara), Andy Maize (Skydiggers), Maury Lafoy (Barenaked Ladies), Lewis Melville (Rheostatics) and Reid Jamieson.

Michael Johnston Hamilton, Ontario

A keyboardist, songwriter, and teacher, Michael Johnston is best-known for his collaborations with Mercury Prize Nominee King Creosote, Juno-award winning group the Skydiggers, and his own solo career. Michael performed on The Jools Holland show with Scottish-Canadian "supergroup" The Burns Unit in 2012.
Michael appears on five albums and a live concert DVD with Skydiggers. ... more
